Designating Southwestern in Your Will...

Designating Southwestern in Your Will...

Becky O'Neal '77 credits Southwestern College for giving her priceless gifts - her best friend, the strength to learn, a focus on living with passions, and the joy of laughter. So when it came time to set her estate plan, Becky didn't think twice about including SC.

"Of course my family was on the list, as well as my church which feeds me spiritually," she says. "As I look back on my life to the places that have affected me in a positive way, though, that includes Southwestern. So it was an easy decision (to include SC in my will) since SC gave me not only a good education, but a foundation that helped me be a successful and happy adult." A member of Southwestern's Business Hall of Fame, Becky has spent her professional career at State Farm Insurance, the past decade in corporate headquarters in Bloomington, Ill. Becky is active in her community and church and finds time to be a devoted friend to her cats while continuing her passion for riding horses.

"My dreams have come true in part because of the lessons learned at Southwestern - they weren't always easy, but I owe so much of my success to the people at SC who inspired such a positive atmosphere," she says. "My hope is that this gift will help the college - that gave so much to me - continue on for many generations."
